Comprehensive Learning with Reuven: From Linux Journal to On-Demand Courses

I’ve enjoyed Reuven’s work since he was a columnist for Linux Journal. Based on that, I signed up for a class he gave on Git and learned a tremendous amount. Since then I’ve watched his PyCon tutorials, talks, and any of his other educational materials. When I noticed that he was making his entire catalog available on a subscription basis, I immediately signed up.

I’ve learned Python and data sciences from Reuven. But not just that. From Bamboo Weekly, I’ve learned how to find incredibly diverse sources of data, how to analyze them and what questions can be asked of the data. I learned how to have fun with data. From his talks, I learned how Jupyter can be used to write and test code. Even when I’m working with the Python REPL, I’m using the same methods he employs in his talks to learn how to work with Python or an unknown library. Not only did I learn Python from Reuven, but I learned how to learn Python and programming from him.

The depth and breadth of the educational materials in a LernerPython membership is unmatched anywhere I’ve found. But what really makes this standout is the way Reuven teaches the material. He takes complicated subjects and makes them simple. You don’t have to go much beyond his PyCon 2024 tutorial on decorators or his class on comprehensions to see this.

There is a TON of fantastic material in a LernerPython subscription and more is always being added to it. It is one of my favorite and most valuable sources of Python educational materials.
